Project Description

Located above the entrance vestibule of the Gladstone Hotel, “Patterning” can be viewed from both street level and the vestibule inside. The installation engages visitors into the art event by producing a moiré effect through three intersecting planes. These intersecting planes create an effect that is both spatial and visually challenging. The resulting encounter directs visitors to rely on their visual knowledge to re-orientate and experience an unexpected shift.
